This replacement barrel motor is built to the YDK M048 design used in Dyson’s early DC‑series canister vacuums. Manufactured in 1400–1600W variants, it matches the original short‑shaft YDK motor fitted to models including DC02, DC05, DC08, DC11, DC19, DC20, DC21 and DC29, restoring strong suction performance in machines suffering from weak airflow, overheating or motor failure. The assembly includes the required capacitor and wiring harness for straightforward installation.

This motor is not suitable for later Dyson models such as the DC23, DC23T2, DC32, DC37, DC39, DC41, DC52 or DC54, which use a different long‑shaft, high‑wattage motor design. Suitable only for vacuums originally fitted with YDK motors; it will not fit Panasonic/SDS variants.
